Eagle Mount Provides therapeutic and recreational activities for children and adults with physical, mental or behavioral challenges, striving to improve the quality of life for them and their families.

Outdoor Explorations

One of the original Eagle Mount programs was the rafting program (now called the Summer Water Activities program). This original rafting program took many of the group homes, senior citizen centers and other river enthusiasts on the Missouri and Smith rivers. Throughout the years, the rafting program has joined other area river rats to experience rafting!

A summer’s day spent on the Missouri river in Montana is an enjoyable and educational experiences that no participant ever forgets. The original rafting program has been expanded to include three areas: rafting trips, fishing trips, and pontoon boating.  Bird watching, stories of life on the river - both past and present, rowing instruction, and fun “water fights” are all part of this program. Some trips are followed by a picnic lunch, giving the participants the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful outdoors even more. Half-day raft trips last 3 hours and full-day raft trips last 6 hours.

In the summer of 2003 we commenced pontoon trips.  Many individuals are unable to participate in the rafting due to their individual challenges.  Our pontoon boat is fully wheelchair accessible with a ramp to get the chairs from the dock to the boat.  A double top covers all riders so sun exposure does not prevent individuals with restrictions on exposure to the sun from participating. Seniors, nursing homes, group homes, and retirement homes are encouraged to take advantage of Eagle Mount's pontoon boat! Pontoon trips are 2 hours long.

Fishing trips are along the Missouri River, Giant Springs, or Wadsworth Park.

Gardening and Trailblazing will be added to the activity list for the summer of 2008.
