( Great Falls ) – Skier and snowboarders get ready for the 3 rd Annual Dick Dailey Cup Ski and Snowboard Race. This is your chance to challenge your friends or rivals to see who is fastest on the mountain.
For the fun ski race, four person teams will compete in a dual slalom at Showdown Ski Area. Each racer will race the course twice with their fastest time recorded and added to their teammate's times to get a team time. The fastest ski and snowboard teams will get the traveling trophy to display and fleece vests for the entire team.
The fun begins Friday, February 27 at 7:00 pm with a Calcutta and live auction at Ryan's station. Race day is February 28 with skiers racing in the morning and snowboarders in the afternoon.
As an additional portion to this event and the start of Dick Dailey week at Showdown, the Ski Patrol is giving rides in the toboggans for a donation. For those that have always wanted to find out what it is like to ride in the toboggan (and not be hurt) this is your chance.
The Dick Dailey Ski and Snowboard Race is the annual fundraiser for Eagle Mount's adaptive alpine ski program. All proceeds from this event go toward funding the adaptive ski program.
