Ice Program

The Ice Program is made possible through the Great Falls Community Ice Plex

Sled hockey follows most of the typical ice hockey rules with the exception some of the equipment. Players sit in specially designed sleds that sit on top of two hockey skate blades. There are two sticks for each player instead of one and the sticks have metal pics on the butt end for players to propel themselves. Sled hockey is rapidly growing in the US and players are "hooked" once they touch the ice the first time.

Ice Skating

Skate rentals will be available. Walkers / wheelchairs will be allowed on the ice.

PARTICIPANTS


Participant Ages: 6 years and up.
Great Falls Community Ice Plex
-Thursdays
  * Next session starts February 5th, 2012
-Times: 5:15 - 6:15 p.m.
-Cost: $5 per time.
-What you need to bring: Gloves, Jacket, Helmet (bike, skateboarding, skiing).  The ice rink is cold - dress appropriately!

VOLUNTEERS

* Volunteer minimum age: 16
* Able to lift over 30lbs
* Stable ice skating abilities
* Program training will be available as needed. (not ice skating lessons - volunteers should already know how to skate).
