Bowling Volunteers
- what to expect.

Volunteers either help ‘One on One’ with a participant or with a group as a bowling ‘Coach’.  As a ‘One on One’ volunteer you will be paired up with a participant who needs a lot of assistance in bowling – some things you may be doing: pushing wheelchair, preparing bowling ramp, putting ball on bowling ramp, or assisting participant push ball off ramp. As a “coach” you are there as a mentor and cheerleader.  They will look to you for the thumbs up and sometimes ask for some advice on their bowling technique.  All volunteers are also there to assist with crowd control by helping the participants to follow the rules and to behave.  Other things a volunteer may do – ask bowling ally workers to assist with any lane issues or ball jams during bowling, help with entering information into scoring system, assist bowlers in ordering food, making sure everyone is where they are suppose to be, and waiting with participants until they are picked up.

Karate - We are one and only one. We don't fight, but we have fun.
(ages 8 and up)

This program is made possible through Fitness Plus Martial Arts Academy.

One might question martial arts as an appropriate activity for Eagle Mount. When we realize that martial arts teaches knowledge of mind, honesty of heart and strength of body, a light goes on as far as suitability is concerned. Martial arts awakens strength in the participants that results in genuine self-esteem.

Our participants are learning discipline, respect and humility as they pursue the progressive “Belts” that represent the awards of the karate training system. Their bodies become stronger and their hand-eye coordination is greatly improved. The creed of the Eagle Mount class is “we are one and only one. We don’t fight but we have fun.”
