Eagle Ski - Mountains accommodate everyone equally. Gravity doesn't care if you are sitting down or standing up!

The Eagle Mount ski program is made possible through
Showdown Montana

The Eagle Mount ski program began the winter of 1991 with six participants. This group traveled 200 miles to ski at a hill that had facilities for people with disabilities. The following year, a program was set up at Showdown, the local ski area. With the help of donations, Eagle Mount has been able to purchase pieces of adaptive equipment such as bi-skis, mono skis, ski tip connectors, and tether lines. Over the past years, the individuals served have grown to over six times the original group.

The ski program wouldn't exist without it's amazingly talented volunteers. Each member of our volunteer ski team is specially trained to work with different disabilities such as visually impaired, spinal cord injury, or developmentally disabled - just to name a few!

Through the ski program, participants gain increased ability to develop different muscles, improve their balance and coordination, and have psychological benefits of increased self-awareness, increased self confidence, and improved self esteem. They actually become part of the ski community.
